TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Last updated: 24 August 2026
These terms govern the use of Weightlifting Online and the purchase of its memberships, programming, coaching and related services.
By creating an account, purchasing a membership or using the platform, you agree to these terms. Please read them before completing checkout.
1. ELIGIBILITY
Weightlifting Online coaching memberships are available only to people aged 18 or over.
You must provide accurate information when creating your account and completing any athlete profile, onboarding assessment or readiness questionnaire.
You must not allow another person to use your account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your username and password and for notifying us if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.
2. MEMBERSHIP PATHWAYS
The services included in your membership are those displayed on the relevant pricing and checkout pages when you join. Current pathways include the following.
Guided Group Programming
Guided Group Programming is intended for adult developing weightlifters who can train and miss lifts safely without direct supervision.
The membership normally includes:
- Four programmed training sessions each week;
- A shared progressive team programme;
- Up to three snatch, three clean and jerk and three accessory video submissions each week;
- One consolidated weekly technical review;
- Prioritised coaching cues, explanations and corrective resources; and
- Training, performance and feedback tracking through the platform.
Videos must be submitted by 6pm on Saturday for review over the following weekend. Late submissions will normally move into the next weekly review period.
Maximum video durations are two seconds for a snatch, five seconds for a clean and jerk and five seconds for an accessory exercise. Videos must be trimmed and contain one lift, attempt or representative repetition.
This pathway does not include an individual programme, scheduled weekly coaching call or continuous feedback throughout the week.
Individual Online Coaching
Individual Online Coaching is intended for intermediate or advanced athletes working towards defined performance, competition or qualification goals.
The membership normally includes:
- Bespoke programming based on the athlete’s technique, physical development, training history, testing information and goals;
- Individualised exercise selection, volume and intensity;
- Readiness, recovery and performance monitoring;
- Up to three video submissions for each programmed session;
- Individual session feedback, normally within two working days;
- One scheduled 15-minute online coaching call each week; and
- Competition, qualification, tapering and attempt-planning support.
Programmes are normally based around four weekly sessions, although training frequency may vary according to individual need.
Missed coaching calls do not roll over. An alternative appointment may be offered at the coach’s discretion and subject to availability. If we cancel a scheduled call, we will offer a reasonable alternative.
In-person competition coaching, travel, medical services, physiotherapy and individual nutrition services are not included unless agreed separately in writing.
Supported Club Athlete
The Supported Club Athlete membership is available only to eligible athletes who:
- Are active members of the participating club;
- Receive regular in-person coaching from the coach;
- Have been offered individual programming; and
- Continue to meet the applicable eligibility conditions.
The supported rate recognises the athlete’s separate club membership and contribution to the participating not-for-profit club. It does not represent the normal market value of the individual programming provided.
This pathway includes bespoke programming and performance monitoring. Technical coaching and corrections are delivered during in-person training. Routine remote video analysis and a weekly online coaching call are not included.
An invitation code or access code provides access to the membership checkout but does not, by itself, establish eligibility. If someone purchases this membership without being eligible, we may cancel and refund the membership and remove access.
If an athlete stops meeting the eligibility conditions, we may give notice that the Supported Club Athlete membership will end. The athlete may be offered Individual Online Coaching at its current price, but will not be moved to a higher-priced membership without consent.
3. ONBOARDING AND PROGRAMME DELIVERY
New members may be required to complete an athlete profile, training-history questionnaire, equipment check, readiness information, technical assessment or introductory training block.
Guided Group Programming athletes may begin with an introductory or beginners’ block before progressing into the team programme.
Individual Online Coaching and Supported Club Athletes receive bespoke programme blocks based on their assessment, needs and agreed goals.
Programmes are delivered through the Weightlifting Online platform. Future programme content is not normally released substantially in advance, although an athlete may be given information about the overall structure, objectives or intended direction of a training block.
4. ATHLETE RESPONSIBILITIES
You agree to:
- Train only in a suitable environment using appropriate and properly maintained equipment;
- Use appropriate safety measures, including collars, safe lifting areas and spotting arrangements where relevant;
- Follow reasonable programme and filming instructions;
- Record training, readiness and performance information accurately;
- Report missed sessions, significant schedule changes, pain, injury concerns or restrictions that may affect your training;
- Submit only videos that you have the right to share;
- Avoid unnecessarily recording identifiable third parties; and
- Seek appropriate medical or healthcare advice where required.
You remain responsible for deciding whether you are physically able to complete a session or exercise safely. Stop training and seek appropriate advice if you experience significant pain, injury symptoms, dizziness, illness or another concerning response.
5. COACHING AND PROFESSIONAL BOUNDARIES
Weightlifting Online provides coaching, programming, education and performance support. It does not provide medical diagnosis, medical treatment, physiotherapy, rehabilitation, mental-health treatment or individual clinical nutrition services.
Programming may be adjusted around restrictions or information you report, but this does not replace assessment or advice from an appropriately qualified healthcare professional.
No particular result, personal best, competition outcome or qualification standard is guaranteed. Results depend on factors including training consistency, recovery, health, technical development, competition performance and the accuracy of information provided by the athlete.
6. VIDEO SUBMISSIONS AND COACHING ALLOWANCES
Video, feedback and coaching-call allowances are limited to those included within the relevant membership pathway.
- Unused video allowances do not roll over into another week or session.
- Unused or missed coaching calls do not create credit or entitlement to additional calls.
- We may request additional videos where these are reasonably required for coaching purposes without reducing the athlete’s normal allowance.
- Videos that are excessively long, untrimmed, unclear, unsafe or unrelated to the prescribed training may be returned without review.
Response times are targets rather than guarantees. Responses may take longer during weekends, bank holidays, illness, technical disruption or other circumstances outside normal working arrangements.
7. PRICES AND PAYMENT
The price and billing frequency applying to your membership are displayed before checkout.
Memberships operate on a rolling monthly basis unless expressly stated otherwise. There is no minimum fixed membership period.
The initial payment is collected when you join. Payment is processed securely through GoCardless using the payment method shown at checkout. Future recurring payments are collected monthly by Direct Debit.
By completing checkout, you authorise the initial payment and the creation of the Direct Debit instruction required for future membership payments.
We do not directly store your complete bank-account or payment credentials. Payment information is processed by the relevant authorised payment provider.
If we change a membership price, the new price will not be applied to an existing recurring membership without reasonable advance notice and any consent required by law.
8. FAILED OR LATE PAYMENTS
If a payment fails, is reversed or remains unpaid, we may suspend or remove access to programmes, coaching resources and membership features.
Access may be restored once the outstanding payment or payment arrangement has been resolved. We are not responsible for missed sessions, feedback or resources during a period in which membership access is suspended for non-payment.
9. CANCELLING A MEMBERSHIP
You may cancel your rolling membership at any time by:
- Logging into your membership account and using the available cancellation option; or
- Contacting us in writing using the contact details published on the website.
Cancellation through the membership account normally takes effect immediately. Programme, platform and protected-content access will end when the membership is cancelled.
Unused programme access, video submissions, feedback allowances or coaching calls do not create account credit and are not automatically refundable, except where a refund is required by law or expressly agreed by us.
You may also cancel a Direct Debit through your bank or building society. If you do so, please also notify Weightlifting Online so that we can correctly close your membership account. Cancelling the Direct Debit will not preserve access to a membership for which payment is no longer being made.
10. DIRECT DEBIT GUARANTEE
Payments collected by Direct Debit are protected by the Direct Debit Guarantee.
If an error is made in the collection of your Direct Debit by Weightlifting Online, GoCardless, your bank or your building society, you may be entitled to an immediate refund from your bank or building society under the Guarantee.
The Direct Debit Guarantee covers errors in the collection of a Direct Debit. It is not a general method of obtaining a refund for correctly collected membership payments or resolving a dispute about the quality or use of a service.
If you receive a refund to which you are not entitled, you may be required to repay that amount.
11. STATUTORY CANCELLATION RIGHTS
Consumers who purchase a membership online will normally have a statutory right to cancel the contract within 14 days of the day after the contract is entered into.
If you ask us to begin providing coaching, programming, platform access or another service during this cancellation period, you expressly request that the service begins before the cancellation period has ended.
If you subsequently exercise a statutory right to cancel after the service has started, we may deduct or charge a reasonable proportion for services already supplied, where permitted by law.
Where digital content is supplied immediately, your statutory cancellation rights relating to that digital content may be affected once supply begins, provided the necessary express consent and acknowledgement have been obtained.
Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights where a service or digital product is faulty, not provided with reasonable care and skill or not as described.
12. REFUNDS
Refund requests will be considered in accordance with applicable consumer law and any published refund policy.
Refunds are not normally provided for:
- Unused time remaining after an immediate membership cancellation;
- Missed training sessions;
- Videos or coaching calls that were available but not used;
- Failure to complete onboarding information or training records;
- Athlete unavailability; or
- Failure to achieve a particular performance or competition result.
This does not affect any statutory right to a refund, price reduction, repeat performance or other legal remedy.
13. PLATFORM ACCESS AND AVAILABILITY
We will take reasonable steps to keep the platform and membership resources available, but uninterrupted access cannot be guaranteed.
Access may occasionally be restricted because of maintenance, updates, security issues, hosting problems or circumstances outside our reasonable control.
We may make reasonable changes to the platform, delivery method, programme interface or resource library where these changes do not materially reduce the core service purchased by the member.
14. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
Programmes, written feedback, videos, coaching resources, graphics, documents and other materials supplied through Weightlifting Online remain the intellectual property of Weightlifting Online or the relevant rights holder.
Your membership gives you a limited, personal, non-exclusive and non-transferable right to use these materials for your own training.
You must not:
- Share your account or protected membership content with another person;
- Copy, publish, sell, sublicense or redistribute programmes or resources;
- Record or redistribute coaching calls without permission;
- Use the materials to provide a competing commercial service; or
- Attempt to bypass membership or content-access controls.
15. ATHLETE CONTENT AND VIDEOS
You retain ownership of videos, comments and other original content you submit.
By submitting content, you give Weightlifting Online permission to securely store, view, process and use that content to provide your coaching, programming, feedback and account services.
Athlete videos will not be used for advertising, social media, public coach education or promotional content without separate and specific permission.
Further information about how videos, health-related information and other personal data are handled must be provided in the Weightlifting Online Privacy Policy.
16. EMBEDDED AND THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
The platform may use or link to third-party services, including video hosting, payment processing, email, online calls and embedded educational content.
Third-party websites and services may process information under their own terms and privacy policies. Weightlifting Online is not responsible for unrelated content or services operated independently by those third parties.
17. SUSPENSION OR TERMINATION
We may suspend or terminate an account where a member:
- Does not pay the applicable membership fee;
- Provides materially false or misleading information;
- Shares protected content or account access;
- Uses the service unlawfully, abusively or in a way that threatens another person or the platform;
- Repeatedly disregards reasonable safety requirements; or
- No longer meets the eligibility conditions for the membership purchased.
Where appropriate, we will explain the reason and provide a reasonable opportunity to resolve the issue. Immediate suspension may be used where necessary to protect safety, security, personal information or the rights of another person.
18. LIABILITY
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
Subject to those protections, Weightlifting Online is not responsible for:
- Losses caused by inaccurate, incomplete or withheld athlete information;
- Injury or damage caused by unsafe facilities, unsuitable equipment or failure to follow reasonable safety instructions;
- Losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when the contract was entered into;
- Business losses arising from a membership purchased for personal use; or
- Failure or delay caused by events outside our reasonable control.
These terms do not reduce any consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded.
19. PERSONAL INFORMATION AND PRIVACY
We process personal information to create and manage accounts, take payments, deliver programmes, provide coaching, communicate with members, protect the platform and meet legal or administrative obligations.
Readiness information, reported pain, injury information and other health-related information may receive additional protection under data-protection law.
Full information about the purposes, lawful bases, retention periods, third-party processors and individual rights relating to personal information is provided in the separate Weightlifting Online Privacy Policy.
20. COMPLAINTS
If you are dissatisfied with a service, payment, coaching decision or another aspect of Weightlifting Online, please contact us in writing and provide enough information for the matter to be investigated.
We will acknowledge the complaint and aim to provide a substantive response within 15 working days. More complex complaints may take longer, in which case we will provide an update.
Making a complaint does not affect your statutory consumer or data-protection rights.
21. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS
We may update these terms to reflect changes to the service, payment arrangements, technology or applicable law.
Material changes affecting an existing paid membership will be communicated with reasonable notice. Changes will not remove statutory rights or retrospectively alter payments already made.
22. GOVERNING LAW
These terms are governed by the laws of Northern Ireland.
If you are a consumer living elsewhere in the United Kingdom, this does not remove any mandatory legal protections available where you live or prevent you from bringing proceedings in an appropriate local court.
23. CONTACT
Questions, cancellations, privacy requests and complaints should be submitted through the Weightlifting Online contact page or sent to the published Weightlifting Online email address.
